DOES GOD LOVE YOU?
하나님이 당신을 사랑합니까?
 

Q. What kind of a question is that? Anyone, who can read, sees signs, tracts, booklets and bumper stickers saying, "God Loves You." Isn't that true?

질문 1:  무순 질문이 그렇습니까?  글을 읽을 줄 안다면 누구나 다 자동차 범퍼에 붙인 스티커나, 싸인이나 전도쪽지에서 "하나님은 당신을 사랑합니다."라는 것을 읽을 텐데.... 그렇 찮나요?

A. It's true that God offers His love to the whole world, as we read in one of the most quoted verses in the Bible:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have ever lasting life." John 3:16

답:  자주 인용되는 성경구절의 하나인 다음 구절에서 읽을수  있듯이 하나님께서는 그의 사랑을 온 세상에 제안 하고 있는것이 사실이긴 합니다.

" 하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 저를 믿는 자마다 멸망치 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이니라"

요한복음 3:16

However, God's love is qualified, as we read in the Bible:

그렇다 해도 하나님의 사랑은 우리가 성경에서 읽을 수 있듯이 대상이 정해져 있읍니다.

"The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord; but He loveth him that followeth after righteousness." Proverb 15:9

"악인의 길은 여호와께서 미워하셔도 의를 따라 가는 자는 그가 사랑 하시느니라"  잠언15: 9

"For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish." Psalms 1:6

 "대저 의인의 길은 여호와께서 인정하시나 악인의 길은 망하리로다"    시편1: 6

Q. But I am not wicked. I am a decent moral person. Surely the good I have done in my life far outweighs whatever bad I have done. How can these verses apply to me?

 질문 2: 그렇지만 저는 악인이 아닙니다. 저는 도덕적이며 선한 사람입니다.  제 사는 동안에  행한 선한 일들이 틀림없이 악한 일보다 훨씬 많았을 것입니다. 그런데 어떻게 이런 성경 구절들이 저에게 적용된다는 말입니까?

A. By God's standards of righteousness even the most moral person is looked upon by God as a desperate sinner on his way to Hell. The Bible teaches that no one good enough in himself to go to Heaven. On the contrary we are all sinners and are guilty before God.

답: 그러나 하나님의 의의 기준에 의하면 가장 도덕적인 사람이라 할지라도 하나님이 보시기에는 지옥으로   갈 수밖에 없는 절망적인 죄인입니다.  성경은 어느 누구도 천국에 들어 갈수 있도록 선하지 못하다고 가르 침니다. 사실인즉, 우리는 모두 하나님 앞에  유죄인 죄인들입니다 .

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none that understand, there is none that seeketh after God." Romans 3:10,11.

 "기록한바 의인은 없나니 하나도 없으며 깨닫는 자도 없고 하나님을 찾는 자도 없고" 로마서 3:10-11

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9

"만물보다 거짓되고 심히 부패한 것은 마음이라 누가 능히 이를 알리요마는"  예레미야 17: 9

Q. If I am such a wicked person in God's sight what will God do to me?

질문 3: 만일 제가 하나님 보시기에 그렇게 악한 자라면 하나님께서 저를 어떻게 하시겠다는 겁니까?

A. The Bible teaches that at the end of the world all the wicked will come under eternal punishment in a place called Hell.

답: 성경은, 이 세상의 말년에 악한 자들은 모두다 지옥이라는 곳에서 영원한 형벌을 받게 된다고 가르칩니다

"For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundation of the mountain. I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. They shall be burnt with hunger and devoured with burning heat and with bitter destruction." Deuteronomy 32:22-24

"내 분노의 불이 일어나서 음부 깊은 곳까지 사르며 땅의 그 소산을 삼키며 산들의 터도 붙게 하는도다 내가 재앙을 그들의 위에 쌓으며 나의 살 을 다하여 그들을 쏘리로다 그들이 주리므로 파리 하며 불 같은 더위와 독한 파멸에게 삼키울 것이라 내가 들짐승의 이와 티끌에 기는 것의 독을 그들에게 보내리로다"  신명기 32: 22-24

Q. Oh, come on now! Hell isn't real, is it? Surely things aren't that bad.

질문 4: 여보십시오. 무슨 말씀을 그렇게 하십니까?  정말로 지옥이 있다는 말씀입니까?  실로 세상사가 그렇게 나쁠 수는 없지요.

A. Indeed, Hell is very real, and "things are that bad" for the individual who does not know the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour. The Bible makes many references to Hell, indicating it is both eternal, and consists of perpetual suffering.

답: 참말로,  지옥이 있는 것이 사실입니다. 그리고 주 예수 그리스도를 구주로 알지 못한 자들에게는 "세상사가 그렇게 나쁠" 것입니다.  성경엔 많은 구절들이 지옥에 대하여 언급하고 있으며 지옥은 영원하며  끝없는 고통의 계속이랍니다.

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15

"누구든지 생명책에 기록되지 못한 자는 불못에 던지우더라"  요한계시록 20: 15

"So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth and sever the wicked from among the just and shall cast them into the furnace of fire. Matthew 13:49-50

"세상 끝에도 이러하리라 천사들이 와서 의인 중에서 악인을 갈라 내어 풀무 불에 던져 넣으리니 거기서 울며 이를 갊이 있으리라"  마태복음 13: 49-50

"and to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power." II Thessalonians 1:7-9

"---주 예수께서 저의 능력의 천사들과 함께 하늘로부터 불꽃 중에 나타나실 때에 하나님을 모르는 자들과 우리 주 예수의 복음을 복종치 않는 자들에게 형벌을 주시리니 이런 자들이 주의 얼굴과 그의 힘의 영광을 떠나 영원한 멸망의 형벌을 받으리로다"  데살로니가후서 1: 7-9

Q. That's terrible! Why would God create a Hell?

질문 5: 그건 정말 너무하군요. 도대체 하나님은 왜 지옥을 만든 답니까?

A. Hell is terrible, and it exists because God created man to be accountable to God for his actions. His perfect justice demands payment for sin.

답: 지옥은 정말로 지독한 곳으로서, 지옥이 존재하는 이유는, 하나님께서 인간을 창조하셨을 때, 인간으로 하여금 자신의 행동에 대하여 책임을 지도록 만드셨기 때문입니다. 하나님의 완벽한 정의는 인간에게 죄에 대한 값을 지불하도록 요구합니다.

"For the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23

"죄의 삯은 사망이요" 로마서 6: 23

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that everyone may receive the things done in his body, whether it be good or bad." II Corinthians 5:10

"이는 우리가 다 반드시 그리스도의 심판대   앞에 드러나 각각 선악간에 그 몸으로 행한 것을 따라 받으려 함이라"  고린도후서 5:10

"But I say unto you that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." Matthew 12:36

"내가 너희에게 이르노니 사람이 무슨 무익한 말을 하든지 심판날에 이에 대하여 심문을 받으리니" 마태복음 12: 36

Q. Does that mean that at the end of the world everyone will be brought to life again to be judged and then be sent to Hell?

질문 6: 그러면 세상 끝 날에 모든 사람들이 다시 살아나 심판을 받고 그 후에 지옥으로 간다는 말인가요?

A. Indeed this is so - that is, unless we can find someone to be our substitute in bearing the punishment of eternal damnation for our sins. That someone is God Himself, Who came to earth to bear the wrath of God for all who believe in Him.

답: 바로 그렇습니다. 우리의 죄로 인한 영원한 형벌을 대신해서 받아줄 사람이 있지 않는 한, 우리가 그 형벌을 직접 받아야 합니다. 그 대속이 바로 하나님 자신이신 예수 그리스도로서, 이 세상에 오셔서 그를 믿는 모든 자들을 위하여 하나님의 진노를 친히 담당하셨습니다.

"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53.6

"우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 무리의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다" 이사야 53: 6

"...He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities..." Isaiah 53.5

"그가 찔림은 우리의 허물을 인함이요 그가 상함은 우리의 죄악을 인함이라 그가 징계를 받음으로 우리가 평화를 누리고 그가 채찍에 맞음으로 우리가 나음을 입었도다" 이사야 53: 5

"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the script-xures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the script-xures." I Corinthians 15:3,4

"내가 받은 것을 먼저 너희에게 전하였노니 이는 성경대로 그리스도께서 우리 죄를 위하여 죽으시고 장사 지낸바 되었다가 성경대로 사흘만에 다시 살아나사" 고린도전서 15:3-4

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." II Corinthians 5:21

"하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 자로 우리를 대신하여 죄를 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 저의 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이니라" 고린도후서 5: 21

Q. Are you saying that, if I trust in Christ as my substitute who was already punished for my sins, then I will not have to worry about Hell anymore?

질문 7: 그러면, 그리스도께서 저를 위한 대속이 되신 것과, 저의 죄로 인한 형벌을 대신 받으셨음을 믿으면, 더 이상 지옥에 대한 걱정을 할 필요가 없다는 말입니까?

A. Yes, this is so! If I have believed in Christ as my Savior, then it is as if I have already stood before the judgment throne of God. Christ as my substitute has already paid for my sins.

답: 네, 그렇습니다. 만일 내가 그리스도를 나의 구주로 믿으면 그것은 마치 내가 이미 하나님의 심판대 앞에 섰던 것과 같습니다. 그리스도께서 나 대신 나의 죄 값을 이미 지불하셨기 때문입니다.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death into life." John 5:24

 "아들을 믿는 자는 영생이 있고 아들을 순종치   아니하는 자는 영생을 보지 못하고 도리어 하나님의 진노가 그 위에 머물러 있느니라" 요한복음 3:36.

Q. But what does it mean to believe on Him? If I agree with all that the Bible says about Christ as Savior, then am I saved from going to Hell?

질문 8: 그렇지만 그를 믿는다는 것이 무슨 뜻입니까? 만일 제가 성경이 말하는 대로 그리스도를 구세주로서 인정하면, 제가 지옥에 가지 않는다는 말입니까?

A.Believing on Christ means a whole lot more than agreeing in our minds with truths of the Bible. It means that we hang our whole lives on Him. It means that we entrust every part of our lives to the truths of the Bible. It means that we turn away from our sins and serve Christ as our Lord.

 답:  그리스도를 믿는다는 것은, 우리가 단지 마음 속으로 성경의 진리에 동의한다는것 보다는, 그 이상 훨씬 더 다른 뜻이 있습니다. 그리스도를 믿는다는 것은 우리 전부를 그에게 얹혀 모든 것을 그에게 마낀다는 뜻입니다. 우리의 삶의 구석 구석까지 성경의 진리되로 살기로 작정하는 것입니다. 그동안 해온 죄짓는 생활을 그만두고 그리스도를 주로써 봉사하는 것입니다.

 "No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Matthew 6:24

"한 사람이 두 주인을 섬기지 못할 것이니 혹 이를 미워하며 저를 사랑하거나 혹 이를 중히 여기며 저를 경히 여김이라   너희가 하나님과 재물을 겸하여 섬기지 못하느니라" 마태복음 6: 24

Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out..." Acts 3:19

"그러므로 너희는 회개하고 돌이키라. 그러면 주의 임재하심으로부터 새롭게 되는 때가 올 때 너희 죄들이 지워지리라." 사도행전 3:19

Q. Are you saying that there is no other way to escape Hell except through Jesus? What about all the other religions? Will their followers also go to Hell?

질문 9:  그러면, 지옥을 피하는 길이 예수님을 통한 길 외에 다른 길이 없다는 말입니까? 그렇다면 다른 종교들은 어떻습니까?   모든 다른 종교를 믿고 따르는 사람들은 모두 다 지옥으로 가게 된다는 말입니까?

A. Yes, indeed. We cannot escape the fact that God holds us accountable for our sins. God demands that we pay for our sins. Other religions cannot provide a substitute for the sins of their followers. Christ is the only one who is available to bear our guilt.

답:  실로 그렇습니다. 우리는 하나님께서 우리에게 자신의 죄에 대한 책임을 지도록 하신다는 사실에서 벗어날  수 없습니다.  하나님께서는 우리에게 우리의 죄 값을  치르도록 요구하십니다.  다른 종교들은 그들을 따르는 자들의 죄를 대신하여 짊어질 사람을 제공하지 못합니다.  그리스도 만이 우리의 죄를 지을 유일한 분입니다.

Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12 

"다른 이로서는 구원을 얻을 수 없나니 천하 인간에 구원을 얻을만한 다른 이름을 우리에게 주신 일이 없음이니라" 사도행전 4:12

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

 "예수께서 가라사대 내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라" 요한복음 14: 6

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9

"우리가 우리 죄들을 자백하면 그는 신실하시고 의로우셔서 우리 죄들을 용서하시며, 모든 불의에서 우리를 깨끗하게 하시느니라." 요한 일서 1:9

Q. Now I am desperate. I don't want to go to Hell. What can I do?

질문 10:  허면 저는 절망적이군요.  저는 지옥에 가기를 원치 않습니다. 제가 무얼 해야 합니까?

A.  There is nothing you can do to save you. You must remember that God is the only one who can help you. You must throw yourself altogether on the mercies of God. As you see your hopeless condition as a sinner, cry out to God that He will save you.

답:  당신이 자신을 구원하기 위하여 할 수 있는 일은 아무 것도 없습니다. 오직 하나님만이 당신을 구원하실  수 있다는 것을 상기하세요. 하나님의 자비 하심에 의지하는 도리 밖에 없습니다.  죄인으로써 가망 없는 상태에 있는 자신을 깨닫고 하나님께 구원을 요청 하는 도리 밖에 달리 도리가  없습니다.

"And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me, a sinner." Luke 18:13

" 그런데 그 세리는 멀리 떨어져 서서 차마 눈을 들어 하늘을 우러러보지도 못하고 가슴을 치며 말하기를 '하나님이시여, 죄인인 저에게 자비를 베푸소서.'라고 하더라.: 누가 복음 18:13

"Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." Acts 16:30, 31

그리하여 그들을 데리고 나와서 말하기를 "선생님들이여, 내가 구원을 받으려면 어떻게 해야 하나이까?"라고 하니

그들이 말하기를 "주 예수 그리스도를 믿으라. 그리하면 너와 네 집안이 구원을 받으리라."고 하니라.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13

"주의 이름을 부르는 자는 누구나 구원을 받으리라" 로마서 10:13

Q. But how can I believe on Christ if I know so little about Him?

질문 11 제가 그를 잘 모르는데 어떻게 그를 믿을 수 있겠습니까?

A. Wonderfully God not only saved us through the Lord Jesus, but also gives us the faith to believe on Him. You can pray to God that He will give you faith in Jesus Christ as Your Savior.

답:  경탄할 일은 하나님께서는 주 예수 그리스도를 통해서 우리를 구하실 뿐아니라 우리가 그를 믿는 믿음까지 주십니다.  예수 그리스도를 주님으로 믿을 수 있는 믿음을 달라고 당신은 하나님께 기도하실 수 있습니다.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8

"너희가 믿음으로 말미암아 은혜로 구원을 받았으니 이것은 너희에게서 난 것이 아니요 하나님의 선물이라." 에베소서 2:8

God works particularly through the Bible to give us that faith. So, if you really mean business with God about your salvation, you should use every opportunity to hear and study the Bible, which is the only Word of God.

그런 믿음을 주기 위해서 하나님은 성경을 통해 역사 하십니다. 허니 당신이 구원을 정말로 원한다면 하나님의 유일한 말씀인 성경말씀을 듣고 공부할 기회를 가지셔야 합니다.

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Romans 10:17

 "그러므로 믿음은 들음에서 나오며 들음은 하나님의 말씀에 의해서니라." 로마서 10:17

Q. Does this mean that I have to surrender everything to God?

질문12 그럼 하나님 앞에 내 모든 것을 양도해야 합니까?

A. Yes. God wants us to come to Him in total humility, acknowledging our sinfulness and our helplessness, trusting totally in Him.

답:  그렇습니다. 하나님은 우리가 그를 온전히 신뢰하며 우리의 죄악 스러움과 가증스러움을 인정하며 그 앞에 아주 겸허하게 나오기를 바랍니다. 

"Saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. Isaiah 66:2b

"주가 말하노라. 그러나 이러한 사람은 내가 보살피리니, 곧 영이 가난하고 통회하고 내 말에 떠는 자라." 이사야 66:2후

Because we are sinners we love our sins. Therefore we must begin to pray to God for an intense hatred for our sins. And if we sincerely desire salvation, we will also begin to turn from our sins as God strengthens us. We know that it is our sins that are sending us to Hell.

우리는  죄인이므로 우리의 죄를  사랑 합니다. 그럼으로 우리가 우리의 죄를 심히 미워 하게 해달라고 기도하기 시작해야 합니다. 구원을 진실로 원한다면 하나님께서 우리를 북돋으실 때 죄에서 떠나기 시작할 것입니다.  우리를 지옥으로 보네는 것은 우리 죄라는 것을 깨닫게 됩니다.

"Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities." Acts 3:26

"하나님께서 그의 아들 예수를 일으키사 너희를 복 주시려고 먼저 너희에게 보내어 각각 자기의 악한 행실로부터 돌아서게 하셨느니라."고 하더라." 사도행전 3:26

Q. I don't know if I am ready to do that. I need some time to think about it.

질문 13  제가 그럴 정도가 아직 못된 것 같읍니다. 내 좀 생각해봐야 되겠읍니다.

A. You might not have much time. For one thing, you might not live to see tomorrow. What God said to the man who trusted in the things of this world, He could say to you, "Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee." Luke 12:20

답: 그 럴 시간이 없을 것입니다.  한가지 확실한 사실은 우리가 내일을 볼지 않을지 모르니까요.  이 세상 것들에 신용을 둔 사람에게 한  하나님의 말씀이 당신에게 적용될 수도 있지요. "너 어리석은 자야, 오늘 밤 네 혼을 네게서 앗아가리니..." 누가복음 12:20

Also, the Bible says that the end of the world is coming soon. The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath. Zephaniah 1:14-15a

또한 성경은 말세가 닥아 오고 있다고 합니다. "주의 큰 날이 가깝도다. 그 날이 가깝고도 심히 급하니, 곧 주의 날의 음성이라. 용사가 거기에서 비통하게 부르짖으리라. 그 날은 진노의 날이요, " 스바냐 1:14-15전

 "Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. James 5:8

너희도 인내하며 마음을 견고케 하라. 주의 오심이 가까움이라.

Q. Is the day of wrath and judgment really near? Can we know how close to the end of the world we might be?

질문 14 정말로 분노와 심판의 날이 가깝왔습니까? 우리가 얼마나 말년에 가까히 있는가 알수있나요?

A. Yes! It is near. God gives much information in the Bible which tells us that we are very near the end of the world.

답:  예 가깝습니다. 성경에서 하나님은 우리가 세상 끝에 아주 닥아 왔다는 정보를 많이 주고 있습니다.

"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. . . . And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come. Matthew 24:12,14

"불법이 성행하므로 많은 사람의 사랑이 식어지리라...이 왕국 복음이 모든 민족에게 증거되기 위하여 온 세상에 전파되리니 그런 후에야 끝이 오리라." 마태복음 24:12,14

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24

"거짓 그리스도들과 거짓 선지자들이 일어나서 큰 표적들과 이적들을 보여 주어 할 수만 있다면 그 택함받은 자들도 미혹하리라." 마태복음 24;24

Q. Besides being the time for Judgment Day, what else will happen at the end of the world?

질문 15  심판의 날이라는 것 이외에 무슨 일이 말년에 있을 것인가요?

A. Those who have trusted in Jesus as their Savior will be transformed into their glorious eternal bodies and will be with Christ forevermore.

답: 예수를 그들의 구세주로 믿은 자들은 영예롭고 영원한 몸으로 변화 되어 예수님과 영생 할 것입니다.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. I Thessalonians 4:16-17

"주께서 호령과 천사장의 음성과 하나님의 나팔 소리와 함께 하늘로부터 친히 내려오시리니 그러면 그리스도 안에서 죽은 자들이 먼저 일어나고 그리고 나서 살아 남아 있는 우리도 공중에서 주와 만나기 위하여 그들과 함께 구름 속으로 끌려올라 가리니 그리하여 우리가 영원히 주와 함께 있으리라." 데살로니가 전서 4:16-17

Also, God will destroy the entire universe by fire and create new heavens and a new earth where Christ will reign with His believers forevermore.

또한 하나님은 온 세상을 불로 파괴 시킨후 그리스도가 그의 신자들과 함께 영원토록 군림할 새 천국과 새 땅을 창조하실 것입니다.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up . . . Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. II Peter 3:10, 13

"그러나 주의 날이 밤에 도둑같이 오리니 그 날에는 하늘들이 굉장한 소리를 내며 사라지고 우주의 구성 요소들이 맹렬한 불로 녹아 내리며 땅과 그 안에 있는 일들이 타버릴 것이라
